DUBAI PHOTO DIARY

The last destination from my recent European adventure included a stopover in Dubai for two nights. We flew on the A380 from Prague for the very first time and that flight, including the 13 hour one (that felt just like an ordinary 8 hour flight out of Australia) back to Sydney was the smoothest I've ever experienced. One thing's for sure, everything in Dubai was O.T.T. - it was amazing!

Dubai, 13th-14th May 2013

As soon as we landed we wished we planned a longer stay. It was bittersweet; refreshingly happy to see and experience a different culture but sad since this last stop meant our trip was nearly over. We landed just after midnight so when we got to our hotel we took a nap for a few of hours then woke up early to visit a couple of souks (markets/bazaars), visit the Dubai Museum to get to know the citys history a little better and took an Abra ride for only 1 dirham - loved that, there's something just so peaceful about sitting on a boat with the wind blowing. We met with the Lime & Tonic Dubai team in the afternoon and they took us to the top of The Address in Downtown Dubai for pre-dinner drinks and the best views! I was enjoying the view on the balcony way too much that I didn't even care about how windy it was since I was so focused on taking photos & videos - I even got to see the Fountain Show from the top! We had dinner & wine at Patiala in Souk Al Bahar with drinks that followed after. There's so many things to do in the The Dubai Mall alone, it's not just about shopping (but I didn't mind that also!) There's the Ice Rink, The Aquarium, the Dubai Fountain and entrance to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. All of which we happily did with some shopping, dining & other things squeezed in-between.
