Video: Byron Bay Travel Diary
At the beginning of this year I made a promise to myself: To travel somewhere new - whether it be near or far - every month. This can be quite challenging for someone living in Australia because any thought of travel leaves you dreaming of wandering around Europe for months because of the time in the air it takes to get over that side of the world. But, I can report back that I have stuck by it for the past 5 months so far (without the feeling of needing to pack my bags and head to Europe - not yet, anyway.)Which leads me to my first trip to Byron Bay. I booked my tickets on the whim after my friend back in Melbourne mentioned that she was planning to go, and that I should come. I was in Hong Kong at the time on a work/play trip with Hong Kong Tourism Board and remember sitting in my hotel room and just saying "what the hell!" A few minutes later I had tickets to Byron and my destination for June was set in my little book of promises. This was short but sweet weekend trip that has definitely left me thinking about returning at another point. I also got to work with Atlantic Byron Bay and stayed in their one and only Vintage Airstream, which has got to be one of my most favourite places I got to call "home" on the road, to date.I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I did creating it! Oh and remember to watch it in HD.Here's to the spontaneous, on-the-whim, just-because trips. We really need more of those in life - it just keeps things more interesting. Have you travelled to Byron Bay? I’d love to see and hear what you got up to. If you haven’t but this video gave you a little spark of wanderlust, please share - and happy travels!
