THE GROUNDS OF ALEXANDRIA

Most of my travels have been documented here and I love that I can take part in inspiring travels of your own. I've had a couple of requests from readers to post about my favourite spots in Sydney, after figuring out that it's actually my hometown. I guess I have never really thought about it that way; it's funny how we can take our own city and what it has to offer for granted sometimes. So here it goes! I unofficially started with that delicious watermelon and carrot cake but if you're heading to Sydney let me tell you, you really can't miss out on breakfast, lunch or a market day at The Grounds of Alexandria.Travel Food: The Grounds of Alexandria SydneyTravel Food: The Grounds of Alexandria SydneyTravel Food: The Grounds of Alexandria SydneyTravel Food: The Grounds of Alexandria SydneyTravel Food: The Grounds of Alexandria SydneyTravel Food: The Grounds of Alexandria Sydney

I remember visiting this place for the first time for lunch with friends when it newly opened mid last year. It didn't take that long to get a table as it does now but it still has the most ideal kind of atmosphere - cosy days inside or soaking up the sun in the outdoor courtyard. Whether it be a catered blogger lunch to end a great fashion week, an event in the secret garden for a collaboration launch or weekend brunches with my love, there's always delicious food to be had. My favourite is definitely the breakfast menu, smashed avocado, haloumi, tomatoes, rolled eggs and olives on sourdough to be exact. They do have a lot of sweet treats to choose from but I really like the cinnamon donut balls with chocolate or jam inside. So simple! These photos are from the markets filled with fresh fruit, flowers and bread this Saturday - just a little peek as to what you'll be greeted with if you choose to visit. Sign up to our newsletter for more travel updates.Facebook | Twitter | Pinterest | Instagram | YouTubeAll Photos: Aubrey Daquinag for The Love Assembly
