Trips to Paris to view new collections from luxury brands, sounds like a dream right! This photo was from Danielle's last trip, you know, just another day at work... in Paris, with beautiful sprinkles of snow - lucky girl! Just before she jetted off this time for Fashion Week and main collection showings, we caught up with her about her new role as Buyer for Belinda & The Corner Shop.
What’s on your bedside table? My kindle, lavender oil, tiger balm, an eye mask and a water bottle. How would you spend your last $100?Fresh figs, flowers, ricotta and olive oil!

Current obsessions:I can’t get enough of Tiger Balm, frozen grapes, holograms and Double Bay.

Favourite labels?Today...Christopher Kane, LanvinProenza Schouler.

Previous Experience/Study:I started in an administration role at Robby Ingham Stores and struck fashion gold when given the opportunity to attend a buying trip to Paris. I wasn't quite sure why, but they continued to let me go back. My role at Robby Ingham Stores is what got me started in buying - dealing with high end brands, getting myself very acquainted with retailing systems, excel, freight forwarders and foreign exchange. Completely unrelated but I studied Communications at University of Technology, Sydney... I soon realised I was more at home behind an Excel spreadsheet than actually communicating.

Favourite and least favourite parts of your job? When you’re in the Lanvin showroom in Paris, surrounded by breathtaking fashion and models, with two inspiring female fashion mentors (who happen to be your bosses) teaching you all they know. That definitely makes me realise how lucky I am...The added bonus is it also makes you instantly forget any not so favourite parts.Workplace essentials:A big monitor and a good pair of glasses for all those spreadsheets! I'm currently wearing a pair of gold aviator Roberto Cavalli's. You know, just so I'm taken super seriously.

A day in the life of Danielle...Lots of liaising with fashion suppliers, working in a retailing system, entering data, running sell through reports, lots of chats with the amazing Belinda & The Corner Shop team and dealing with some of the most beautiful brands and merchandise in the world!

What’s next?I just love where I am right now and happy to be here. I may start looking for a new pair of specs though... There is an embellished Prada pair with my name on them.

3 tips of advice for budding Fashion Buyers:Get friendly with Excel.

Know your customer.Absorb every bit of knowledge and information imparted on you... Mentors are invaluable.
