POSTCARDS & POLAROIDS FROM PARIS
Looking back on these photos as I put my photo diary together makes me feel so lucky to have seen such beauty in a city with my very own eyes; a place I had forever been dreaming of. I'm the type of person to try and capture every single moment whether that be on my camera, iPhone, polaroid or my heart. There were so many things we did but also so many that we didn't get a chance to do in our first visit to Paree - which is okay because I know it's not the last. This is Paris, for the very first time, through my eyes...
One week in Spring, 28th April - 6th May 2013
There were so many highlights to this trip, especially my birthday events that I know I'll always remember with a smile on my face. The food here was my absolute favourite, I've been craving it everyday since I've left. My two recommendations for any first-timer to try are very traditional French restaurants and have such a great ambience and delicious food of course! My boyfriend actually took me to these restaurants as he had them on his list, so I guess the credit goes to him (he knows me so well!)Pain, vin, fromages in le Marais is exactly what it stands for - bread, wine, cheese a.k.a everything that I love. It is heavenly! Try the cheese platters paired back with wine or the cheese fondue, where you dip in little pieces of your baguette into a pot filled with melted cheese. Then there's Huitrerie Regis, a cute restaurant in Saint Germain which specialises in seafood, particularly oysters and shrimp. Share their platter with a side of baguette + olive oil and a glass of white wine. I was so excited for the oysters but I have to say, the shrimps really blew me away! And who could forget dessert! I absolutely loved the créme brûlée macaron from Pierre Hermé and of course the carrot cake at Rose Bakery. All this food talk is making me hungry...For shopping, I loved everything the concept store Merci had to offer, along with Colette. Then of course a visit to my favourite French designer boutiques: Céline, Isabel Marant, Repetto, A.P.C and that little designer vintage store we stumbled upon, Truck en Stock. I also love high street wear COS, the whole store can pretty much be my wardrobe thanks! There are so many other places I enjoyed but these would have to be my favourites to eat and shop this time.
