TRAVEL DIARY: MELBOURNE WITH STA TRAVEL & TOURISM AUSTRALIA
Long weekends call for out-of-town travel plans and the last one for us was extra special here at The Love Assembly! We packed our bags and proudly partnered with STA Travel and Tourism Australia to share our travels and things to do in Melbourne and Victoria for #WanderAustralia - an amazing new campaign launching soon that's all about travelling in your own backyard which, if you read (or more so, watched!) our last post you would know I’m all for that! I’ve always thought that Melbourne has a European feel to it, do you agree? Gothic-style architecture, cool weather and cozy cafes, and now with all the international brands opening up shop (H&M, A.P.C, Uniqlo and MUJI - with COS coming later in the year) Swede, French and Japanese shopping is a lot closer to home in Sydney!
Outside of Melbourne, I got to experience beautiful coastal drives and breathtaking views along the Great Ocean Road, and the wine tasting, strawberry picking and lavender gardens were a delight when we explored around the Mornington Peninsula. These are definitely things in Melbourne and parts of Australia worth experiencing!
First stop over on the Great Ocean Road in the town of Lorne for morning tea.
Breathtaking views just minutes from the 12 Apostles... Loch Ard Gorge.
Charcuterie & wine tasting - just my kind of lunch in Mornington Peninsula.
Pastel delight at the lavender fields.
Exploring and learning about the city was made much more interesting with Melbourne by foot, and I’m quite confident in cheekily saying that I think I know a little bit more history than a local Melbournian does about their city now.
The most prettiest (& equally as tastiest brunch I've ever had! at Top Paddock
Pink donut street art catching my eye on Hosier Lane
More colourful street art in front of Movida Melbourne
