Le Pirate Beach Club in Gili Trawangan
"Simple luxury for the adventurous traveller" - that's what Le Pirate Beach Club say they provide, and that's exactly how my experience felt. After spending a few nights at their Nusa Ceningan location we were delighted to join them again for our stay at their new location, Gili Trawangan - the largest of the Gili Islands. An hour and a half on the fast boat and a cidomo ride later, we checked in to our beach sweet and received a map to Gili T, or as they descibred it as - Treasure Island.Panama from Hong Kong market, Oscar Wylee sunglasses, Marysia Swim bandeau, Coin purse from PhilippinesThis new location opened in late January 2015 and we were excited to know that we were one of the first guests to stay and enjoy one of their beach sweets and their extended facilities like the two pools, the huge restaurant and bar, bike hire service, and outdoor cinema (most of the time we enjoyed this all to ourselves since it was low season in February and the place was practically brand new.)On top of the cute beach boxes - that are available to stay in their first location, Nusa Ceningan - Le Pirate in Gili Trawangan has bunk beds (sleeps 1-4) and 'sweets' (as they like to playfully spell your typical suite) in mega (sleeps 1-2) and mega family (sleeps 1-4). That makes plenty of room for sharing with friends, family, or lovers. The atmosphere is vibrant and super friendly. You'll find the staff are always around to assist and/or ask for advice on what to do around the island. It definitely attracts a more young-at-heart crowd, there's a level of sophistication in the styling and setup yet it's fun, unpretentious and has the great chilled vibes and opportunity of meeting other travellers. We stayed in WHERE, just a few huts down from the front and right opposite the restaurant. Here's a look inside our island home that was bright, clean (up until we received our bags) and refreshing:The food and drinks were mm mmm delicious! Lots of fresh tropical fruit for breakfast and cocktails at 11am, because who really knows what time it is when you're on holidays?! Definitely recommend ordering their strawberry mojito - it has been the best mojito I've ever had!
