The Amala Review: A Luxury Resort And Spa Retreat in Bali

To be completely honest, as soon as the car pulled up and I arrived at The Amala I thought we were lost. Hidden away from the busy surroundings, there's no sound of traffic or the hustle and bustle from Bali's shopping district, Seminyak. I stepped out of the car and it was like I had wandered into a day dream of lush greenery; a pure oasis of tranquility. The Amala offers a more personalised and intimate service. They clearly know how to welcome you on your stay - once you arrive you receive a welcome drink and a half an hour welcome massage, which as far as I can say is the icing on the cake (especially if you've arrived exhausted and dirty from travels around the island, like I did). It's an adult-only (12yo and above) spa retreat with bamboo lined hallways, lush greenery and super friendly staff who were always smiling and helpful. We stayed in one of the six luxurious spa villas which included around the clock butler service, complimentary daily minibar stock of soft drinks, wifi, the option of in-room breakfast, and of course a spa right at your doorstep - this made morning agendas easy and was always the first thing on our to do list.If there's one piece of advice for you to take note when visiting Bali, I'd say it's to spoil yourself silly - you're on vacation, after all. Here's a room tour of the spa villa and Indonesian cooking class I did which was so much fun!Read more: Where to Shop in Bali
