Starting with the big and the beautiful! The blueberry and ricotta hotcakes at Top Paddock tastes as good as it looks. Normally ordered for brunch but also perfect for dessert. 2. Salted caramel ice cream cake at Meatball & Wine Bar
Salted caramel anything is always a great choice in my books. Put a generous scoop on top of warm ginger cake, add nutella, mint sauce and berries and you officially have me drooling. This was a special - just a little fancier to their ‘whoopie mac’, a sandwich ice cream cookie where you choose your cookie base (chocolate, pistachio, meringue, lemon shortbread, ginger cake) then your ice cream (caramel, vanilla, chocolate, cherry). 3. Madeleines filled with lemon curd at Cumulus Inc.
These little bundles of joy are just so, so tasty. I don’t usually like the sourness of lemon desserts but these have a perfect balance. The 15 minutes are definitely worth the wait and a nice way to finish off a long charcuterie and wine filled lunch.Cumulus Inc.: 45 Flinders Ln, Melbourne
4. Couverture white chocolate mousse at Taxi Kitchen
The once fine dining restaurant of Taxi Dining in Federation Square relaunched earlier this year with a more relaxed approach and re-name of Taxi Kitchen. The dessert to try: couverture white chocolate mousse with fresh berries. It's so perfectly plated and satisfying to the sweet tooth.
