There’s a lot of research and thought that goes into booking a hotel when planning for travels. Questions like, ‘how do the rooms look?’ ‘Is wifi included?’ ‘Is the location close by to where I want to go?’ are all at the top of the list.
Travel makes us feel alive, and for that we stay close – passport in one hand and a sense of curiosity in the other.
To be completely honest, as soon as the car pulled up and I arrived to The Amala I thought we were lost. Hidden away from the busy surroundings, there’s no sound of traffic or the hustle and bustle from Bali’s shopping district, Seminyak.
There’s no doubt that there’s a great range of cafe’s in Bali. Every time I travel back I always find something new and exciting to try.

Ubud is a nice change of pace and scenery to the main strip of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak in Bali. Its refreshing greenery makes days more cool and relaxing when the weather gets hot and humid. For first timers, it’s suggested to visit the Monkey Forest in Ubud. We visited on our first trip to Bali and made a day out of it by also going to the Rice Fields and Ubud Markets.
A little controversial, a lot of influence from art, Coopérative de Création is my favourite stop for jewellery in Seminyak. Although I didn’t have much luck the first time I visited Bali (all the items I wanted were sold out and when I finally made up my mind about that ‘today is a good day’ canvas tote it was gone!)
