BORACAY ISLAND, THE PHILIPPINES

Have you heard of Boracay? It’s been alot less popular than islands in Thailand and Bali but it’s certainly making a mark in tourism these days. In late 2012 the island hit it’s first million of visits from tourists and I’m seeing more features in newspapers and magazines, which comes as a nice surprise since it’s something new. (For those of you who don’t know, my background is Filipino.) I’ve been to Boracay a couple of times, with family and another time with friends and I can easily say that it was completely different for both; though the island equally as beautiful.

With family, I ate, did some water sport activities, got pampered and hung out with my mum, her sisters and my younger cousins. With friends, I ate, did some water sport activities, got pampered and partied… way too much!

It’s got the white sand, clear blue water features ticked and as much as I love sipping on cocktails/mocktails, reading a book and getting cheap but amazing massages by the beach, my favourite activity that I did was parasailing…and I highly suggest you do it if you end up going here! I’ve done it a few times up at central coast, NSW with a couple girlfriends but this time was different—for one it was alot cheaper, but more significantly the views of the island when you’re high up in the sky are incredible!

Snorkelling, jet ski-ing and feeding fish on an underwater safari are also options I’ve done at Boracay but I absolutely love the thought of flying. It’s pretty much one of my top answers when asked What superpower would you most likely want to have?

Because you know how that’s totally an everyday-kind-of-question.

    • Thanks Sam! I have about 8 different cameras, haha! But these were taken on my normal Canon s100 (for photographs 1-3) and my Lomography fish eye film camera (for the last photograph) :) Aubrey x
